Microsoft Office for Android and iOS coming soon



There has been quite a few old rumors suggesting that Microsoft has been working on an office suite that would support both the Android and iOS platforms. According to The Verge who claims to have “several sources close to Microsoft’s plans” who believe that the company will be releasing a mobile version of Microsoft Office for Android and iOS in early 2013.
Using Microsoft Office on Android or iOs will require a Microsoft account and will come in the form of three apps similar to the mobile version of SkyDrive and OneNote apps.
On initial launch, users will only be able to access basic viewing functions for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents. Microsoft will require an Office 365 subscription in order for one to be able to enable edit functionality.
According to The Verge, Microsoft will allow users to purchase an Office 365 subscription within the app. they will also allow for organizations to be able to distribute codes to enable Office mobile for enterprise users.
