Apple has made no official announcement but is planning an event on September 12 at which a next iPhone would be announced. Apple’s blog said, a next generation smartphone will be introduced at the event and released nine days later.
New iPhone generations are released one per year while iPhone 4S took longer than the other, 16 months after iPhone 4. iPad Mini would be probably unveiled the event as well. Apple established iPad Mini to compete with Android tablets.
Apple earned $35 billion with net profit $8.8 billion for second quarter this year and 17 million iPad, 26 million iPhone, and 4 million Mac were sold.
